Job Summary (The Opportunity)

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Process Training Specialist to support workforce capability within the Processing Department. The successful candidate will design, coordinate, and deliver technical and safety-focused training programs to enhance operational efficiency, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement within a high-performance mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver training programs for mineral processing operations, including crushing, grinding, thickening, dewatering, and tailings management
  • Conduct induction and refresher training in line with regulatory requirements
  • Translate complex technical processes into clear and practical training materials
  • Deliver competency-based training for plant operators and technical staff
  • Assess employee competency through practical and written evaluations
  • Coach and mentor employees to improve performance and technical knowledge
  • Supervise trainees to ensure readiness, compliance, and competency
  • Support onboarding and induction training for new employees and contractors
  • Prepare training schedules and submit monthly reports
  • Maintain training records, matrices, and compliance documentation
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and safety teams to identify training needs
  • Continuously review and improve training materials
  • Support safety initiatives and incident reduction through targeted training

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mining process plant or mineral processing environment
  • Proven experience delivering technical training in industrial or mining settings
  • Strong understanding of plant operations, process control, and safety systems
  • Familiarity with competency-based training frameworks
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training documentation tools
