Purpose of Job

To support the coordination, monitoring, and implementation of resource mobilization plans to ensure alignment, coherence, and compliance with agreed standards. The role contributes to strengthening coordination, avoiding duplication, and enhancing capacity and partnerships to support effective and sustainable programme funding.

Main Functions

  • Monitor and track the implementation of resource mobilization work plans and report on progress.
  • Support the review, documentation, and continuous improvement of resource mobilization frameworks.
  • Coordinate and follow up on the development, updating, and implementation of resource mobilization plans across programmes.
  • Liaise with monitoring and evaluation teams to ensure plans are implemented in line with established standards.
  • Facilitate coordination, information sharing, and avoidance of duplication in resource mobilization efforts.
  • Support capacity-building initiatives for State Parties, including structured financing dialogues.
  • Maintain effective internal coordination and working relationships to promote coherent and aligned funding support.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report on the implementation of resource mobilization work plans
  • Contribute towards continuous review of existing resource mobilization efforts and support in documentation of framework
  • Follow up and provide guidance on the development and update of their resource mobilization plans and organize meetings on all plans to ensure coordination
  • Work with monitoring and evaluation team to ensure implementation of plans according to set standards
  • Identify duplication and contribute to the smooth coordination and information exchange on resource mobilization
  • Contribute to the capacity building of State Parties in the area of resource mobilization and support for structured financing dialogues
  • Maintain effective inter-department relationships and programmes to promote and strengthen coordinated funding support.
  • Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or by the Director.

Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience

  • A University Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Demography or Public Finance or a related discipline.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience. 
  • or related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.

TENURE OF APPOINTMENT:

The Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for a period of one (1)/ two (2) years, of which the first six (6) months will be considered a probationary period. Thereafter, the contract may be renewed up to two times based on positive performance assessment and subject to the availability of funds.

LANGUAGES:
Proficiency in one of the AU working languages (Arabic, English, French, Kiswahili, Portuguese, and Spanish) is mandatory, and fluency in another AU language is an added advantage

REMUNERATION:

The salary attached to the position is an annual lump-sum of US$ 77,425.50 (P1 Step 5), inclusive of all allowances for internationally recruited staff, and US$ 59,805.19, inclusive of all allowances, for locally recruited staff of the AfCFTA Secretariat
