Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Financial Accountant to provide financial leadership across our integrated agribusiness operations, including poultry production, feed milling, soybean processing, and manure processing. The successful candidate will drive profitability, financial discipline, and sustainable growth while ensuring robust financial systems, controls, and reporting frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with business growth objectives
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting across all business units
  • Advise management on capital allocation, investment decisions, and financial risks
  • Support fundraising initiatives and manage investor relations

2. Profitability & Cost Optimization

  • Establish and monitor profitability models across operations (poultry, feedmill, soybean and manure processing)
  • Drive cost control initiatives across procurement, production, and logistics
  • Monitor key metrics such as feed conversion ratios (FCR), cost per bird, and processing margins
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements across the value chain

3. Financial Operations & Controls

  • Develop and maintain strong accounting systems and internal controls
  • Ensure timely preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and cash flow reports
  • Implement ERP or integrated financial systems
  • Ensure compliance with Ghanaian tax laws, statutory requirements, and audit standards

4. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Manage cash flow planning and liquidity
  • Optimize working capital cycles including inventory, receivables, and payables
  • Ensure financial resilience during expansion phases

5. Capital Projects & Infrastructure Financing

  • Oversee financial aspects of capital projects including farm infrastructure and processing plants
  • Evaluate return on investment (ROI) and manage capital expenditure budgets
  • Ensure cost control and efficiency in capital deployment

6. Investor & Lender Engagement

  • Prepare financial models, reports, and investment documentation
  • Manage relationships with banks, investors, and development finance institutions
  • Support due diligence and fundraising processes

7. Risk Management & Governance

  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks
  • Manage exposure to commodity price volatility and foreign exchange risks
  • Strengthen corporate governance and financial transparency

8. Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team
  • Oversee accounting, cost control, and procurement finance functions
  • Promote a culture of accountability and financial discipline

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • EBITDA and net profit margins
  • Cost efficiency across production units
  • Cash flow stability and working capital efficiency
  • Budget adherence and variance management
  • Return on invested capital (ROIC)
  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Professional qualification required (ACCA, ICA, CPA, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience, including at least 3 years in a senior financial role
  • Experience in agribusiness, manufacturing, or FMCG is highly preferred
  • Strong background in financial modeling, capital raising, and multi-business financial management
