Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Human Resources Manager based on-site in Accra.
The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, policy implementation, and compliance with labor regulations. They will develop and manage strategies that foster a positive workplace culture, drive employee engagement, and support organizational growth. Responsibilities also include training and development programs, handling payroll, and maintaining accurate employee records.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support business growth, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness
- Partner with executive leadership to align human capital initiatives with corporate objectives
- Lead change management and culture transformation initiatives across both business units
Talent Acquisition and Management
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment and selection processes to attract top-tier talent
- Develop talent pipelines and succession plans for critical roles
- Drive onboarding programs that accelerate integration and productivity
Performance and Rewards Management
- Design and manage performance management systems that drive accountability and results
- Oversee compensation and benefits structures to ensure competitiveness and equity
- Guide management on performance improvement and disciplinary processes
Employee Relations and Engagement
- Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes engagement, inclusion, and high performance
- Manage employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent resolution
- Lead employee engagement surveys and implement action plans
Learning and Development
- Identify training needs and implement learning programs to build capability across the organization
- Promote continuous professional development, especially within regulated insurance and pensions operations
Compliance and HR Operations
- Ensure compliance with Ghana Labour Laws and industry regulations within the insurance and pensions sectors
- Maintain accurate HR records, policies, and procedures
- Oversee payroll coordination, HR systems, and reporting
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
- A Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is an added advantage
- Professional certification or chartered status in HR (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, IHRMP, or equivalent) is required
- Proven expertise in Human Resources Management, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle management
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, compliance policies, and best practices in workplace regulations
- Experience in employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to design and execute training and development programs to enhance employee skills and performance
- Proficiency in HR systems and tools for payroll processing and recordkeeping
- Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
