Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical & Electronic Technician to ensure the continuous and reliable operation of all electrical and automated systems across our facilities. This role is critical to preventing downtime, safeguarding livestock, and maintaining optimal production efficiency across poultry, feedmill, and processing operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Systems Management

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across poultry houses, feedmill, processing plants, water systems, and offices
  • Ensure stable and reliable power supply for all operations
  • Monitor and maintain distribution boards, circuit breakers, wiring, and protection systems

2. Automation & Control Systems (Core Function)

  • Maintain and troubleshoot automated poultry systems including feeding, drinking, ventilation, lighting, and egg collection systems
  • Ensure optimal performance of control panels, sensors, and actuators
  • Monitor and calibrate automation systems for efficiency

3. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules
  • Conduct routine inspections and proactively address faults
  • Maintain maintenance logs and equipment history

4. Emergency Response & Downtime Prevention

  • Respond rapidly to electrical faults and system failures
  • Restore operations with minimal downtime
  • Implement backup solutions to protect critical systems (ventilation, feeding, water supply)
  • Provide on-call support during critical production periods

5. Power Supply & Backup Systems

  • Manage and maintain generators, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and solar systems
  • Ensure seamless switching between power sources
  • Conduct regular testing of backup systems

6. Poultry House Critical Systems Oversight

  • Ensure continuous operation of ventilation, temperature, humidity, and lighting systems
  • Monitor environmental controls to prevent heat stress, oxygen depletion, and bird mortality

7. Feedmill & Processing Equipment Support

  • Support electrical systems in feedmill and soybean processing operations
  • Maintain motors, conveyors, mixers, and control panels
  • Troubleshoot faults affecting production lines

8. Collaboration & Planning

  • Work closely with the Facility Manager on maintenance planning, repairs, and system upgrades
  • Provide technical input on equipment procurement

9. Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards
  • Maintain safe working practices and proper system protection
  • Train staff on basic electrical safety awareness

10. Spare Parts & Inventory Management

  • Maintain inventory of critical spare parts (fuses, relays, sensors, motors, cables, etc.)
  • Recommend procurement to avoid operational delays

11. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, system failures, and resolutions
  • Prepare reports on system performance, downtime, and maintenance status

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in:
    • Industrial electrical systems
    • Automation and control systems
  • Experience in poultry farms, feedmills, or manufacturing environments is an advantage
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting experience

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, industrial automation, and PLCs (advantage)
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies
  • High attention to detail and strong sense of accountability
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
