Unit Head, Strategy & Business Performance – Prudential Bank Ghana

Job Description

We are seeking to recruit an experienced, results-oriented, and strategic professional to fill the position of Unit Head, Strategy & Business Performance in our Bank.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the Bank’s strategic planning, performance management, business analytics, and corporate performance monitoring initiatives to support the achievement of the Bank’s strategic objectives. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leading the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of the Bank’s strategic plan.
2.  Coordinating the Bank’s corporate planning and annual business planning processes.
3. Monitoring the execution of strategic initiatives and reporting on progress against approved strategic objectives.
4. Developing and maintaining the Bank’s performance management framework, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and balanced scorecards.
5. Preparing periodic business performance reports, dashboards, and presentations for Executive Management and the Board.
6. Conducting business performance analysis and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
7. Coordinating enterprise-wide performance reviews and recommending improvement initiatives.
8. Tracking departmental and business unit performance against approved targets.
9. Supporting the evaluation and implementation of strategic projects and transformation initiatives.
10. Conducting market research, competitive analysis, and industry benchmarking to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
11. Collaborating with business units to improve operational efficiency and business performance.
12. Ensuring timely submission of regulatory and management reports relating to strategy and business performance.
13. Leading, coaching, and developing members of the Strategy & Business Performance Unit.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or a related discipline.
2. A Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Strategy, Finance, Economics, or a related field will be an added advantage.
3. A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant banking or financial services experience, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or management role.
4. Demonstrable experience in strategy development, corporate planning, business performance management, financial analysis, or business intelligence.
5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
6. Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
7. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis/reporting tools.
8. Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
