We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and people-oriented Employee Relations Officer to join our Human Resources team in Accra.

Position Summary

The Employee Relations Officer will play a key role in maintaining positive employee relations, promoting employee engagement, supporting workforce planning initiatives, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a productive work environment, addressing employee concerns, supporting organizational development initiatives, and helping to strengthen the company’s culture and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations Management

  • Manage and resolve employee grievances, complaints, disciplinary matters, and workplace conflicts in a fair, professional, and timely manner.
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on employee relations matters and company policies.
  • Support investigations into workplace issues and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Promote positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, company policies, and HR best practices.

Employee Engagement & Organizational Development

  • Support workforce planning and organizational development initiatives.
  • Assist in designing and implementing employee engagement programs and activities.
  • Coordinate employee wellness programs aimed at promoting work-life balance and employee well-being.
  • Support recognition and reward programs that enhance employee motivation and retention.
  • Gather employee feedback and recommend initiatives to improve workplace satisfaction and productivity.

Policy Development & Compliance

  • Review, update, and maintain employee handbooks, HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ensure HR policies remain compliant with current labour regulations and industry best practices.
  • Communicate policy updates and ensure consistent implementation across the organization.
  • Support the development of workplace standards and codes of conduct.

Employee Communication & Support

  • Serve as a key point of contact for employee concerns and workplace-related inquiries.
  • Facilitate communication between management and employees on organizational matters.
  • Promote a culture of transparency, inclusivity, and mutual respect.
  • Support change management initiatives and employee transition processes.

HR Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate employee relations records and documentation.
  • Prepare reports on employee relations trends, disciplinary cases, and engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor employee morale and provide recommendations to management on workplace improvement opportunities.
  • Support HR projects and other human resource initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Human Resource Management
    • Business Administration
    • Industrial Relations
    • Organizational Psychology
    • Public Administration
    • Or a related field

Professional Certification

Professional HR certifications will be an added advantage, including:

  • CIHRM (Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management – Ghana)
  • SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management)
  • CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development)
  • Other recognized Human Resource certifications

Experience

  • Minimum of four (4) years’ relevant experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or a similar role.
  • Experience within a corporate, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, FMCG, or healthcare environment will be an advantage.
