About Tamale Development Trust (TDT)

Tamale Development Trust (TDT) is a women-led community foundation based in Tamale, Ghana, serving the Tamale Metropolitan Area and Sagnarigu Municipality (population ~716,455).

TDT is a nonprofit organization registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Ghana Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and licensed by the Nonprofit Organizations Secretariat of the Department of Social Welfare, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

Since its incorporation in November 2022 and operational launch in July 2023, TDT has focused on promoting local philanthropy by mobilizing community resources and leveraging donated grants to make Tamale a thriving and sustainable community.

As a start-up nonprofit, the organization is currently managed by its founding donor Board Members and is seeking skilled individuals to support its financial and administrative functions on a volunteer basis.

Position Overview

The Finance & Administration Officer (Volunteer) will support TDT’s financial management and administrative operations, helping ensure proper record-keeping, budget tracking, compliance, and organizational efficiency until the Trust is financially able to offer salaried positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage financial records, budgets, and expenditure tracking.
  • Support financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain accurate administrative documentation and organizational records.
  • Assist in developing and implementing administrative systems and processes to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Accounting or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of nonprofit financial management principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting tools.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience is desirable but not mandatory.
