Our client in the Oil and Gas sector is seeking to recruit a skilled Treasury Accountant to support cash management, funding, and treasury operations. This role is critical for managing cash flows, ensuring liquidity, optimizing working capital, and maintaining banking relationships to achieve financial goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cash Management: Monitor daily cash balances, prepare cash flow forecasts, and manage short-term liquidity requirements.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Payments and Transactions: Oversee the execution of payments, including ACH, wire transfers, and foreign exchange transactions, ensuring adherence to internal controls.
  • Cash Forecasting: Assist in preparing and updating cash flow forecasts to anticipate liquidity needs and optimize cash positions.
  • Debt Management: Support the management of debt facilities, ensuring compliance with loan covenants and preparing related documentation.
  • Investments: Assist in managing the company’s short-term investment portfolio, optimizing returns within risk tolerance and liquidity needs.
  • Bank Relationships: Maintain and develop relationships with banks and financial institutions, addressing service issues and exploring opportunities to optimize banking services and fees.
  • Treasury Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly treasury reports for management review.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to treasury policies and controls, identifying potential risks and recommending process improvements.
  • FX and Hedging: Support foreign exchange risk management by executing hedging transactions and preparing FX exposure reports.
  • Audit Support: Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits related to cash and treasury operations.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualification preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable, treasury, or cash management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and strong Excel skills for data analysis.
  • Deep understanding of accounting processes, general accounting principles, and vendor management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and team members.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the capability to identify and address discrepancies.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively with strong time-management abilities.
