Sankofa Natural Spices is seeking an experienced, results-driven, and highly organized Senior Supervisor – Fleet & Logistics to oversee and optimize the company’s transportation, fleet management, and logistics operations. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient movement of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, extensive fleet management experience, and a proven ability to coordinate logistics operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Summary
The Senior Supervisor – Fleet & Logistics will be responsible for supervising daily fleet operations, coordinating transportation activities, monitoring logistics performance, and leading a team of drivers and logistics personnel. The successful candidate will ensure that company vehicles operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting business objectives through effective logistics planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Management
- Supervise the daily operations of the company’s fleet, including trucks, buses, forklifts, and service vehicles.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and available for operational requirements.
- Monitor vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, maintenance schedules, and operational costs.
- Maintain accurate fleet records, including licenses, insurance documents, inspection reports, maintenance records, and vehicle registrations.
- Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and company transport policies.
Logistics & Transportation Coordination
- Plan and coordinate the transportation of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products.
- Develop and implement transportation schedules to ensure timely deliveries and efficient resource utilization.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to support operational requirements.
- Monitor delivery timelines and resolve transportation challenges promptly.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise drivers, logistics coordinators, transport assistants, and support staff.
- Conduct performance monitoring, coaching, and training to improve productivity and service quality.
- Ensure staff compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor logistics performance indicators and fleet efficiency metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve transportation processes and reduce operational costs.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.
- Prepare periodic reports on fleet performance, transportation activities, and logistics operations.
Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, health and safety requirements, and company standards.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and operational issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all fleet and logistics activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Logistics Management
- Supply Chain Management
- Transportation Management
- Business Administration
- Or a related field
- Professional certifications in Logistics, Supply Chain, Fleet Management, or Transport Operations will be an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in fleet management, logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
- At least two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing transportation operations and fleet performance.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, transport planning, and logistics coordination.
