About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven, and safety-conscious Production Supervisor to join our operations team in Takoradi.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising daily production activities, leading production teams, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and driving operational efficiency to achieve production targets.

This role is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment and possesses a strong commitment to continuous improvement, productivity, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations Management

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations.
• Monitor production schedules and ensure production targets are achieved within established timelines.
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks that may impact productivity.
• Coordinate shift activities to ensure smooth production flow and continuity.

Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead, motivate, and supervise production employees to achieve departmental objectives.
• Allocate work assignments and monitor employee performance.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and on-the-job training to team members.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Participate in performance evaluations and employee development initiatives.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

• Promote and enforce compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox meetings.
• Ensure employees utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report, investigate, and assist in resolving workplace incidents and near misses.
• Drive a strong safety culture throughout the production environment.

Quality Assurance & Process Control

• Monitor production processes to ensure products meet established quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with operational procedures, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Investigate quality deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with quality teams to minimize defects and waste.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor key production performance indicators and prepare operational reports.
• Track productivity, downtime, waste, and efficiency metrics.
• Analyze operational data and recommend process improvements.
• Report production performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities to management.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Participate in lean manufacturing, process optimization, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Support the implementation of productivity enhancement projects.
• Encourage innovation and best practices within the production team.

Equipment & Resource Management

• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance requirements.
• Ensure machinery and production equipment are operated safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.
• Ensure proper inventory control and material management within the production area.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Management, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a production, manufacturing, or industrial operations environment.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
• Proven ability to manage production teams and achieve operational targets.
• Experience in manufacturing, processing, industrial production, or related sectors will be an added advantage.
