We are currently looking for an experienced and highly organized Procurement Officer to join our team and play a critical role in supporting procurement and supply chain activities across the organization.

Position Summary

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, purchasing goods and services, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of resources required for business operations and project execution.

The ideal candidate should possess strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality, compliance, and supplier performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Planning & Execution

  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order issuance and delivery.
  • Source and procure materials, equipment, goods, and services required for projects and operational activities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement requirements and timelines.
  • Develop procurement plans to ensure the timely availability of resources.
  • Monitor procurement schedules and ensure all purchases are delivered according to project requirements.

Supplier & Vendor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and service providers.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and strategic suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier assessments and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain an updated supplier database and procurement records.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues and ensure service delivery standards are consistently met.

Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation

  • Obtain quotations and conduct comparative analyses to achieve value for money.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contract conditions with suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and sourcing opportunities.

Contract & Compliance Management

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing supplier agreements, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor supplier compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and audit-ready records.

Inventory & Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and project teams to ensure proper receipt and distribution of purchased items.
  • Monitor stock levels and recommend replenishment actions where necessary.
  • Track deliveries and follow up on outstanding orders.
  • Ensure timely resolution of supply chain and delivery challenges.

Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Prepare procurement reports and spend analysis for management review.
  • Track procurement KPIs, supplier performance, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Analyze procurement trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and vendor performance.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Procurement and Supply Chain Management
    • Logistics Management
    • Business Administration
    • Purchasing and Supply
    • Operations Management
    • Or a related discipline

Professional Certification

The following certifications will be an advantage:

  • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)
  • Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT)
  • Professional Procurement Certifications
  • Other relevant supply chain qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, or logistics management.
  • Experience working in project-based environments, engineering, construction, manufacturing, energy, technology, or professional services industries will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in supplier management and contract negotiations.
