About the PAIReD Programme
The Participation, Accountability, and Integrity for a Resilient Democracy (PAIReD) Programme is implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in partnership with the Ministry of Finance.
The programme promotes citizen-centred, transparent, accountable, and trustworthy governance in Ghana. Working with government institutions, civil society organizations, and local authorities, PAIReD strengthens public financial management, supports data-driven planning, enhances land-use and development planning, and contributes to anti-corruption efforts through collaboration between state and non-state actors.
Position Summary
The Junior Communications Specialist will support the implementation of communication strategies and activities for the Governance and Peace Cluster and the PAIReD Programme. The role focuses on developing communication materials, producing digital content, documenting programme activities through photography and videography, managing communication assets, and providing administrative and logistical support for communication initiatives and stakeholder engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Content Creation & Multimedia Production
- Edit and produce high-quality video content highlighting programme activities, stakeholder engagements, trainings, workshops, conferences, and public events.
- Capture, edit, and organize professional photographs for storytelling, project documentation, reporting, and visibility purposes.
- Develop visual communication products for digital and print platforms.
- Support the production of communication materials that enhance programme visibility and stakeholder engagement.
Knowledge Management & Information Systems
- Manage communication databases, media libraries, publications, and knowledge repositories.
- Maintain digital archives and ensure communication assets are properly stored, categorized, and accessible.
- Support organizational knowledge management initiatives and information-sharing processes.
Communication Assets Management
- Oversee communication equipment and assets.
- Monitor asset usage, maintenance schedules, and inventory records.
- Ensure communication tools and equipment remain functional and available for programme activities.
Administrative & Logistical Support
- Provide administrative support for communication activities and campaigns.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, conferences, stakeholder engagements, and public events.
- Support procurement processes related to communication activities and materials.
- Track communication requests and ensure timely execution.
Stakeholder Engagement Support
- Assist in organizing communication and outreach activities with stakeholders.
- Support visibility campaigns and public engagement initiatives.
- Facilitate communication between project teams and external stakeholders.
Reporting & Documentation
- Document communication activities and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor progress on communication assignments and ensure deadlines are met.
- Prepare reports and updates on communication activities and outputs.
- Support project documentation and impact storytelling initiatives.
Other Duties
- Perform any other communication, administrative, or project-related responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Graphic Design
- Communication Studies
- Visual Communication
- Digital Media
- Public Relations
- Journalism
- Or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications and demonstrated practical experience will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years’ professional experience in a similar role.
- Experience in photography, videography, video editing, graphic design, and administrative support.
- Previous experience working on international development, donor-funded, NGO, or governance-related projects will be an advantage.
- Proven experience developing high-quality digital and print communication products.
