Job Description
Are you passionate about technology, IT systems, and providing reliable technical support? Join our dynamic team as an IT Officer and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of our organisation’s IT systems and infrastructure.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The IT Officer reports directly to the IT Manager, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Chief Technical Officer (CTO). The role is responsible for supporting the organisation’s IT infrastructure, systems, users, and technology-related operations, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient IT services across the business.
FUNCTIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Offer general IT support to all departments of The Automation Ghana Group (TAGG)
- Be responsible for the administration of the entire IT setup of TAGG.
- Be responsible for administering backups and ensuring the security of the IT setup.
- Provide advice on improving the company’s IT setup
- The employee shall handle IT related projects / jobs, adhering to agreed procedures and standards. These projects / jobs include, but not limited to, the following
- Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
- Talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
- Replace parts as required
- Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
- Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
- Support the roll-out of new applications
- Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
- Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
- Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
- Prioritize and manage many open cases at one time
- Rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers
- Test and evaluate new technology
- Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment
OHSE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand fully, the importance of an effective OHS & EMS culture
- Promote a continual improvement of OHS & EMS activities.
- Identify and report hazards
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- A solid IT/Computer Science background or equivalent qualification, with a minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience.
- Good knowledge of IT systems, hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT applications.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt to a fast-paced technology environment.
