This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving technology strategy, digital innovation, cybersecurity, infrastructure management, and IT governance to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Position Summary
The Head of Information Technology is a critical member of the senior management team and will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s technology strategy while ensuring the effective management of all IT systems, infrastructure, digital platforms, cybersecurity initiatives, and data management frameworks.
The successful candidate will lead the IT function, align technology initiatives with business objectives, oversee digital transformation projects, and ensure the organization’s technology environment remains secure, scalable, and future-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic IT Leadership & Planning
- Develop and implement the organization’s IT strategy in alignment with corporate goals and business objectives.
- Provide strategic leadership on technology innovation, digital transformation, and enterprise systems modernization.
- Advise executive management on emerging technologies, technology investments, and digital opportunities.
- Develop long-term technology roadmaps that support organizational growth and competitiveness.
- Lead technology governance initiatives and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
IT Operations & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of all IT infrastructure, networks, servers, databases, and business applications.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of critical IT systems and services.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Monitor IT service delivery and ensure service levels meet organizational requirements.
- Oversee cloud technologies, enterprise applications, and digital platforms.
Cybersecurity, Risk Management & Compliance
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to protect organizational assets and information.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, data protection laws, and industry standards.
- Lead cybersecurity risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response initiatives.
- Implement policies and controls that safeguard sensitive business and customer information.
- Monitor evolving cybersecurity threats and establish proactive mitigation measures.
Project Management & Digital Transformation
- Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT and digital transformation projects.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
- Evaluate and implement technology solutions that improve business performance and customer experience.
- Drive automation initiatives and digital process improvements across the organization.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and procurement arrangements.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure delivery of quality services.
- Collaborate with internal business units to identify and address technology needs.
- Serve as the primary technology advisor to senior management and key stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team.
- Establish performance objectives and professional development plans for team members.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and technical excellence within the IT department.
- Identify future talent needs and support succession planning initiatives.
Business Partnership & User Support
- Partner with business units to understand operational challenges and technology requirements.
- Ensure effective user support services and timely resolution of IT-related issues.
- Drive technology adoption and user engagement across the organization.
- Develop strategies that improve employee productivity through technology solutions.
- Promote a customer-centric approach to technology service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Management Information Systems (MIS)
- Computer Engineering
- Information Systems
- Or a related field
Preferred Qualification
- Master’s Degree in:
- Business Administration (MBA)

Professional Certifications
The following certifications are highly desirable:
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

- Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT)
- Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, Oracle, or other relevant certifications
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in Information Technology management.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role overseeing enterprise IT functions.
- Proven experience managing large-scale IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and technology projects.
- Experience within the insurance, financial services, banking, telecommunications, or corporate sector will be an advantage.
