As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Finance Lead to join our team and play a key role in strengthening our financial management, reporting, payroll, controls, and business decision-making.

This is an opportunity for a finance professional who is not only comfortable with numbers, but also understands how finance can support business growth, operational efficiency, accountability, and sustainable profitability.

The Role

As Finance Lead, you will provide day-to-day financial leadership and support the business in maintaining accurate financial records, managing payroll and financial processes, monitoring costs, and providing timely financial insights to support management decisions.

You will work closely with leadership and other functions to ensure that financial resources are effectively managed, financial obligations are met, and the business has the information it needs to grow responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and review periodic financial reports for management.
  • Monitor the company’s financial position and highlight key financial issues, trends, and risks.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making.

2. Budgeting & Cost Management

  • Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial plans.
  • Track actual expenditure against budgets and investigate significant variances.
  • Monitor operating costs and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
  • Support management in evaluating the financial implications of business decisions and new initiatives.

3. Payroll Administration

  • Coordinate the preparation and processing of payroll.
  • Ensure payroll information is accurate, complete, and properly documented.
  • Work with the relevant teams to ensure timely processing of employee-related payments and statutory obligations.
  • Maintain appropriate payroll records and confidentiality.

4. Financial Controls & Compliance

  • Establish and maintain effective financial controls and processes.
  • Ensure financial transactions are properly authorised, recorded, and supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Support compliance with applicable accounting, tax, payroll, and statutory requirements.
  • Identify financial control gaps and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
  • Support internal and external audit processes where required.

5. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Monitor cash inflows and outflows to support effective cash flow management.
  • Track receivables, payables, and other financial obligations.
  • Provide management with regular updates on cash availability and upcoming financial commitments.
  • Support effective management of working capital.

6. Business & Operational Support

  • Partner with management and operational teams to provide financial guidance.
  • Analyse business performance and translate financial information into practical recommendations.
  • Support financial planning for production, procurement, sales, and other business activities.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving profitability, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience across accounting, finance, and payroll functions.
  • Practical experience managing financial operations and reporting.
  • Experience in manufacturing or FMCG will be an advantage.
  • Professional qualification or progress towards ICA, ACCA, or CIMA will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of financial controls, budgeting, payroll, reporting, and statutory compliance.

Key Skills & Competencies

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial management principles.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High levels of integrity, accountability, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to identify problems, analyse financial information, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other teams.
  • A proactive mindset and genuine interest in helping a growing business succeed.

What We Value

We are looking for a finance professional who understands that finance is more than keeping the books. You will be expected to bring discipline, clarity, commercial thinking, and accountability to the business while helping us count it, grow it, and keep it fair.

If you are excited by the opportunity to contribute to a growing Ghanaian food business and want to play a meaningful role in building strong financial foundations for growth, we would like to hear from you.
