About the Role
Media General is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven Credit Control Officer to join our Finance team in Accra. In this mid-level role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of the organization by managing credit risk, accelerating debt recovery, and ensuring healthy cash flow across our diverse media platforms.
As a Credit Control Officer, you will oversee the end-to-end accounts receivable and credit control cycle. You will collaborate closely with our Commercial and Sales teams, building professional relationships with advertising agencies, corporate clients, and individual partners to ensure timely collections while preserving positive commercial partnerships.

Requirements
- A Degree in Accounting/Finance plus Part qualification in a professional Accounting (CA, ACCA, CIMA.) and at least 3 years working experience
- Experience in media is an added advantage
- Ability to effectively use digital tools and accounting systems to manage credit control activities and receivables.
- Understanding of the end to end Account Receivable process
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Management
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritise and multitask
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Tenacity and ability to have difficult conversations
- Willingness to escalate debt issues
- Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packages
Responsibilities
- Follow up on Clients’ debts that are aged between 180 and 360 days.
- Update clients’ records with changes that might be identified during the cause of collecting debts.
- Report on assigned target weekly based on a set weekly target.
- Collect all such debts and pay same to the cashier on daily basis
- Collect all withholding tax certificates relating to debtors under your control on monthly basis and report on same.
- Make visits to clients who are delaying in paying until they have paid.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly receipt analysis.
- Perform any other duties within the scope and intent of the job as may be required from time to time.
