Job Title: Chokerman
Job Location: Berekum-Bono Region
Job Type- Casual Workers

Job Summary

The Chokerman plays a vital role in timber harvesting operations, assisting with the safe extraction, handling, and stacking of logs. The successful candidate will work closely with machine operators to ensure safe and efficient field operations.

Deadline: Noon on 31st July 2026

Job Responsibilities

  • Work at the highest level of safety and diligence.
  • Correctly choke trees/logs and off-cuts using chains, cables, or taglines for skidding or extraction
  • Ensure proper use and control of chains and cables.
  • Assist the machine operator in doing basic checks on machines, chains, and cables
  • Assist the machine operator in completing daily production control sheets
  • Ensure the stacking of logs according to product groups in the field and landing sites
  • Communicate with the machine operator, showing the skidder/tractor where to drive and where to winch
  • Assist processing activities.

 Eligibility: 

  • Minimum of Junior High School (JHS) education or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in forestry, logging, harvesting, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Must have a valid NHIS card and Ghana Card.
  • Must have an SSNIT number

  • Physically fit and capable of working in challenging outdoor environments.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under minimal supervision.
