Summary

The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) leads Temple’s Asset Management business, driving the investment strategy across private equity, private wealth, pensions & institutional mandates. The CIO is responsible for leading portfolio performance, product development, and client engagement across all three sub-units, and works closely with the Investment Banking team to source and develop investment products. 

Role Overview

We are seeking a visionary and commercially driven Chief Investment Officer to lead Temple’s Asset Management business and shape the firm’s investment philosophy across private equity, private wealth, pensions and institutional mandates. The ideal candidate will be the architect of Temple’s overall investment strategy, elevating portfolio performance, and originating mandates that align financial returns with high-impact outcomes across Ghana’s most growth-critical sectors. This role sits at the intersection of capital markets leadership and strategic client stewardship, requiring the ability to translate complex market dynamics into compelling investment products, lead and mentor a high-performing team of Portfolio Managers, and position Temple as the premier destination for institutional and individual capital in Ghana. The CIO will bring deep expertise in asset management, fund structuring, and the Ghanaian regulatory environment, with the seniority and credibility to engage investors, regulators, and partners at the highest levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement Temple’s investment strategy and portfolio construction framework across all asset classes, ensuring alignment with the firm’s commercial objectives and impact mandate. 
  • Oversee the performance of Portfolio Managers across the private equity, private wealth, and pensions and institutional sub-units, providing investment direction, oversight, and mentorship. 
  • Source, evaluate, and originate new investment products and mandates in coordination with the Investment Banking and Advisory teams, with a focus on delivering measurable financial and development outcomes. 
  • Lead client engagement at a senior level, including participation in pitches, portfolio reviews, and institutional relationship management.  
  • Ensure portfolio compliance with regulatory requirements, client mandates, and internal risk parameters, while driving the department’s business development efforts in coordination with the Executive Operations team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • CFA Charterholder with a valid Ghana Investment and Securities Institute (GISI) certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in asset management, fund management, or investment analysis, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing investment teams.
  • Broad exposure across private equity, private wealth management, and pensions and institutional fund management, with a proven track record of portfolio performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate and manage investment mandates and senior client relationships, with strong commercial instincts and business development capability.
  • Deep knowledge of Ghana’s regulatory and investment environment, including familiarity with SEC Ghana, GSE, and relevant institutional frameworks.
