KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum first degree in relevant field; i.e. Business Administration, Economics, Finance, etc
  • Related professional qualification is a plus, MOODY’s Credit
  • Hands-on experience with asset management. 
  • In-depth familiarity with Fidelity Bank’s relevant products and services
  • Deep understanding of the local Ghanaian market for Commercial and SME banking 
  • Deep understanding of the credit cycle, risk and risk mitigating factors
  • Minimum of 5 years banking experience, ideally as a Credit Analyst, Relationship Manager
  • Both operational and intellectual understanding of the arrears management process and ability to bridge between the monitoring and the operational enforcement of the job 
  • Good communication and inter personal skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite – advanced level excel 
  • Ability to self-organize, think in both innovative and structured ways, ability to problem-solve.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Asset Quality Monitoring and Control

  • To maintain an overview of the Commercial & SME Banking segment’s loan portfolio quality at all times, flagging areas of concern to the Portfolio Quality Manager.
  • In collaboration with the Portfolio Quality Manager, develop monitoring and tracking tools and tables to keep tabs on all asset quality issues in all branches
  • Generate regular reports through working with the relevant stakeholders to share and track daily, monthly, and periodic payment due / arrears lists by branch /SRM
  • Follow up by sending relevant emails, making follow-up calls, and collaborating with RSSMs, BSSMs, SRMs.
  • Track compliance to post disbursement conditions in collaboration with the Area Risk Team and raise any early alert.
  • Support the Portfolio Quality Manager to set up periodic interactions with SRMs, coach and train them about how to be proactive with early warning signs from clients
  • When arrears arise, support the Portfolio Quality Manager to prepare coaching and training materials for RMs. This training material may include how to gather information and prepare for arrears committee, how to detect early warning signs, how to collaborate with a Credit Analyst in performing financial monitoring, etc. 
  • Establish best practice around Portfolio Quality Review sessions – regularity, agenda, decision-points, minute-taking, follow up. 
  • To suggest ways of working with SRMs on arrears management for the Small Segment at the branches.
  • To support the Portfolio Quality Manager in his/her work with all relevant stakeholders Commercial & SME Banking asset quality management and product paper reviews.
  • Help to ensure that proper handing over is completed between SRM and Recovery Officers in the event that facilities >90 days in arrears must be handed over. Monitor and stay informed of Commercial facilities with the recovery teams. 
  • Enforcement of Best Practice Arrears Management 
  • Maintain healthy stakeholder collaborations.
  • Build a system to track all restructured facilities by the remedial team
