Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to support the finance department in managing daily accounting operations. The successful candidate will assist with invoice processing, financial record keeping, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure accurate and efficient financial management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in reviewing and verifying invoices and cheque requests for accuracy and completeness.
  • Sort, code, and match invoices for proper documentation and processing.
  • Prepare invoices for payment and ensure timely processing.
  • Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system.
  • Track expenses and process employee expense reports.
  • Post financial transactions to journals, ledgers, and other accounting records.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are made on time.
  • Report any payment or invoice discrepancies to the appropriate authority.
  • Monitor customer accounts for non-payments, delayed payments, or other irregularities.
  • Generate and review age analysis reports of outstanding debts.
  • Investigate and resolve customer account queries.
  • Assist with statutory tax computations and filing.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, mid-year, and annual financial and management reports.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with payroll administration.
  • Support supplier account management.
  • Assist in managing fixed assets and inventory records.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum qualification of HND, DBS, or relevant accounting certification.
  • At least 1 year of relevant working experience in accounting or finance.

  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling financial information.
