Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
HR Leadership & Team Supervision
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the H&W Rice HR team, ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and high performance.
- Allocate tasks, monitor output, and coach team members to improve efficiency, professionalism, and service delivery.
- Act as the first point of escalation for HR-related issues within the subsidiary.
- Promote HR best practices and ensure alignment with HR standards and expectations.
Recruitment, Selection & Onboarding
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including workforce planning, job requisitions, CV screening, interviews, and candidate selection.
- Ensure all employment documentation (offer letters, contracts, IDs, pre-employment documentation) is accurately issued and maintained.
- Design and implement effective onboarding and induction programs to support smooth employee integration and productivity.
- Ensure recruitment activities align with approved manpower plans and budget.
HR Operations, Records & Data Management
- Ensure proper maintenance of accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal files, contracts, and HR databases.
- Oversee staff attendance, leave management, confirmations, promotions, and exit documentation.
- Maintain records of staff loans, advances, and other HR-related transactions.
- Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and proper documentation across all HR processes.
Payroll, Benefits & Compliance
- Coordinate payroll preparation for permanent, contract, and casual staff, including overtime computation, attendance validation, and payroll inputs.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of terminal benefits and final entitlements.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, statutory obligations, and internal policies.
- Monitor regulatory timelines and ensure statutory payments and filings are completed accurately and on schedule.
Performance Management & Talent Development
- Implement and drive the performance management process at the subsidiary level in line with Group guidelines.
- Support managers in setting performance goals, conducting reviews, and providing constructive feedback.
- Collate training needs assessments and support the development and execution of training plans.
- Coordinate internal and external learning interventions to support employee capability and performance improvement.
Employee Relations, Engagement & Welfare
- Serve as a neutral mediator in employee relations matters, handling grievances, disciplinary issues, and conflict resolution in line with policy.
- Promote positive employee relations through fair, transparent, and consistent people practices.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, team-building activities, and welfare programs.
- Administer and analyze employee engagement surveys, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Policy Implementation & Governance
- Ensure effective implementation and adherence to HR policies and procedures within the H&W Rice business.
- Support policy awareness and ensure employees and line managers understand HR guidelines and expectations.
- Identify gaps in policy application and escalate recommendations for review.
Reporting & HR Advisory
- Prepare and submit periodic HR reports covering headcount, attrition, recruitment, payroll, compliance, training, and employee relations.
- Provide management with HR insights, trends, risks, and recommendations to support business decisions.
- Act as a trusted HR advisor to management on people-related matters.
Continuous Improvement
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee experience.
- Recommend practical HR initiatives that support productivity, engagement, and operational efficiency.
- Stay informed on labour law updates and HR best practices relevant to the agri-business sector.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–9 years experience in human resource with prior experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience in leading HR operations, including Payroll, Compensation & Benefits, Recruitment & Retention, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Policy Development, Employee Engagement, and Change Management.
- Proven experience in implementing HR strategies and frameworks that support business objectives.
- Experience in HRIS implementation, workforce planning, and process transformation initiatives.
- Professional HR certification in either CIPM or HRCI is an added advantage.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to guide high-performing HR teams.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to align HR initiatives to business objectives.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to extract HR metrics, analyze trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Deep understanding of HR policies, labor laws, and best practices, with the ability to implement continuous improvements.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and lead change management initiatives effectively.
- Competence in HR technology, including HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and other HR tools.
