Job Overview
The Quality Systems Officer ensures the Quality and Food Safety Management System of the company meets international standards by supporting audits, compliance, sanitation, pest control, and continuous improvement initiatives across the company.
Duties
- Works closely with Quality Systems and Regulatory Affairs Supervisor to implement and maintain the
Kasapreko PLCs integrated Quality and Foods Safety Management system (QFSMS) which is certifiable to
international standards such as ISO9001 and FSSC 22000. - Support the Quality systems function in leading key strategic Quality and Food Safety improvement
initiatives across the organization. - Liaise directly with engineering, procurement and document control to implement Kasapreko PLC Integrated Quality and Food Safety Management System.
- Assist with conducting Quality and Food Safety Audits, identifying, documenting, and providing solutions
for Non-Conformances (NCR’s) Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA’s). - Manages adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices with regards to sanitation.
- Ensure compliance with company, and regulatory, product Quality and Food Safety standards
Works closely with Quality Assurance, production personnel on sanitation issues, recommending
changes to improve sanitation policies, procedures, and standards. - Perform internal audits and trend analysis.
- Compiles reports regarding Audit inspections, GMP violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
- Ensure that appropriate accreditation, quality systems, quality improvement, sanitation and GMP’s
education and training programs for staff are developed and delivered. - Facilitate the implementation of responses to address sanitation and regulatory issues and trends.
- Support the pest control program by managing plant pest control activities and contracted pest control
services. Maintain compliance with applicable regulations
Skills and Attributes
- Knowledge of Food safety & Quality management systems (ISO 9001,
- ISO 22000, FSSC22000, HACCP etc)
- Solid written and verbal communication skill
- Ability to effectively perform multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
- Ability to analyze large amounts of complex data
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Enjoys a hands-on work environment
- Computer literacy-Excel, PowerPoint etc.
Qualifications
- Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Science Laboratory Technology or related.
- Two (2) plus years relevant work experience, preferably in food, beverage or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
