As we continue to expand our project portfolio, we are seeking a highly organised, hands-on and results-oriented Site Project Supervisor to join our team and provide effective supervision and coordination of construction and development activities at project sites.

THE ROLE

The Site Project Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities at assigned construction and development sites, ensuring that works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, budgets and agreed timelines.

The successful candidate will serve as an important link between the project management team, consultants, contractors, artisans, suppliers and other stakeholders, ensuring that site activities are properly coordinated and completed efficiently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Site Supervision & Project Execution

  • Supervise daily construction activities and ensure work is progressing according to approved project plans and schedules.
  • Monitor contractors, subcontractors, artisans and other site personnel.
  • Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and work plans.
  • Coordinate daily site activities to minimise delays and disruptions.
  • Monitor the progress of different trades and ensure proper sequencing of works.
  • Identify site challenges and escalate issues requiring management attention.

2. Quality Control & Compliance

  • Inspect completed and ongoing works to ensure compliance with required quality standards.
  • Ensure materials and workmanship meet approved specifications.
  • Identify defective or substandard work and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Work closely with consultants and technical teams to resolve construction-related issues.
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with applicable building standards, project specifications and organisational requirements.

3. Health, Safety & Site Management

  • Promote and enforce safe working practices across the project site.
  • Ensure workers use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards and risks.
  • Support the implementation of site health and safety procedures.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and organisation of the construction site.
  • Report accidents, incidents and safety concerns promptly.

4. Project Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor project progress against agreed timelines and milestones.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and periodic site progress reports.
  • Document site activities, challenges, materials received and work completed.
  • Track project activities and highlight potential delays or cost implications.
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate site records, photographs, inspection reports and other project documentation.

5. Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and project teams.
  • Participate in site meetings and provide updates on project progress.
  • Follow up on agreed actions and ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate the delivery and use of construction materials and equipment.
  • Assist in resolving conflicts and operational challenges on site.
  • Maintain professional relationships with project stakeholders.

6. Materials, Equipment & Resource Management

  • Monitor the use and availability of construction materials on site.
  • Verify deliveries against approved specifications and quantities.
  • Minimise material wastage, theft and misuse.
  • Monitor the availability and condition of tools, equipment and machinery.
  • Report material shortages and equipment requirements promptly.
  • Support effective utilisation of project resources.

7. Project Cost & Time Control

  • Support the Project Manager in ensuring projects remain within approved budgets and timelines.
  • Monitor site activities that may result in additional costs or delays.
  • Identify potential variations and communicate them to the relevant project team.
  • Support accurate measurement and verification of completed works where required.
  • Assist in ensuring contractors deliver within agreed contractual requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, HND or relevant professional qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in construction site supervision or project coordination.
  • Proven experience supervising construction activities and coordinating contractors and artisans.
  • Good understanding of construction methods, materials and site operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings.
  • Experience working on residential, commercial or real estate development projects will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of health, safety and quality requirements within construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of construction project scheduling and site coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of project management or construction management software will be an advantage.
