Purpose of the Role
The Plant Finance & Inventory Manager serves as the primary finance business partner for the Kaasi Plant while maintaining full ownership of inventory integrity, controls, and reporting across both Achimota and Kumasi operations. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective inventory management, strong internal controls, and the provision of financial insights that support operational decision-making and business performance.
Key Accountabilities
• Own inventory accounting, valuation, reconciliation, and reporting processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory records across all locations.
• Lead inventory control activities, including cycle counts, annual stock takes, variance analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
• Manage standard costing and Bill of Materials (BOM) integrity in partnership with Operations and Supply teams to ensure accurate product costing.
• Monitor inventory performance indicators, including stock ageing, obsolescence, inventory turns, and slow-moving stock, and recommend actions to optimize working capital.
• Ensure robust inventory controls and compliance with company policies, financial controls, and governance requirements.
• Serve as the primary finance business partner to plant leadership, providing financial analysis, insights, and decision support to drive operational performance.
• Prepare and analyze monthly plant financial results, operational KPIs, and manufacturing variances, identifying risks, opportunities, and improvement actions.
• Lead plant budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities while supporting operational improvement and capital investment initiatives through detailed financial analysis.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes, compliance with accounting standards, and readiness for internal and external audits.
• Partner with Corporate Finance and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver accurate reporting, meet compliance requirements, and support strategic business objectives.
Finance
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance cost efficiency, inventory management, data visibility, reporting accuracy, and financial decision-making.
• Support the optimization of ERP systems and processes relating to inventory management,
costing, and financial reporting.
Key Requirements – Qualifications, Experience, Skills etc.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualificationssuch as ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, or plant finance, including supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong experience in inventory accounting, stock control, costing, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience partnering with plant leadership and operational teams to drive business performance.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, manufacturing processes, and inventory management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering capabilities.
• Strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a manufacturing environment.
