Job Description

We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for structural design, analysis, technical coordination, and site supervision, ensuring that construction works are safe, structurally sound, constructible, and compliant with approved drawings, engineering codes, specifications, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design for building and other civil/structural engineering projects.
  • Prepare, review, and interpret structural drawings, designs, calculations, and technical specifications.
  • Develop structural solutions that are safe, practical, economical, and compliant with applicable engineering standards and building codes.
  • Use engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETABS, SAP2000, and STAAD.Pro to produce designs, models, calculations, and structural drawings.
  • Coordinate structural designs and technical requirements with architects, civil engineers, MEP professionals, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Conduct site inspections and supervise structural works to ensure construction is carried out in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor construction activities and identify structural, technical, or quality issues that may affect project safety, cost, or schedule.
  • Review contractors’ work, shop drawings, reinforcement details, and construction methodologies where required.
  • Provide technical guidance and resolve structural engineering challenges encountered during construction.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, relevant engineering standards, building regulations, and quality control procedures.
  • Prepare technical reports, design documentation, progress updates, and other engineering-related reports as required.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide professional input on structural design, construction progress, and technical matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and practical experience in structural design, analysis, and construction supervision.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, review, and produce structural drawings and technical documentation.
  • Good understanding of structural engineering principles, construction methods, materials, and relevant design codes and standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and technical coordination skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify potential structural and construction-related issues.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, professional ethics, and engineering best practices.

Preferred Qualities

The ideal candidate should be proactive, technically competent, organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with the ability to translate engineering designs into safe and practical construction solutions. Experience in site supervision and coordination with contractors and other consultants will be an added advantage.
