Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven, and hands-on Production/Workshop Manager to oversee our workshop and production operations, ensuring efficient fabrication, quality output, timely delivery, and effective coordination of installation activities.
Role Highlights
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise day-to-day workshop and production activities
- Oversee the fabrication of structural steel, metal components, and related engineering works
- Ensure production activities are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Coordinate fabrication schedules with project timelines and site installation requirements
- Supervise workshop personnel, welders, fabricators, technicians, and other production staff
- Monitor the efficient use of materials, equipment, tools, and other workshop resources
- Inspect completed fabrication works to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications
- Work closely with project and site teams to coordinate the transportation and installation of fabricated components
- Identify and resolve production challenges, delays, rework, and technical issues
- Ensure proper maintenance and safe use of workshop machinery and equipment
- Monitor production performance and provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and resource requirements
- Promote good housekeeping, safety, discipline, and productivity within the workshop
- Contribute to continuous improvement of production processes, efficiency, quality, and cost control
Key Requirements
- Degree/HND in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar supervisory or management role, preferably within the construction, engineering, steelworks, or metal fabrication industry
- Strong practical knowledge of steel fabrication, structural steelworks, and installation processes
- Good understanding of engineering drawings, fabrication methods, material specifications, and quality requirements
- Experience managing workshop teams, production schedules, materials, tools, and equipment
- Ability to coordinate fabrication activities with site installation and project requirements
- Strong leadership, planning, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and quality control standards
- Professional certification or relevant technical training will be an added advantage
