Job Description

Matrix Agroscience is seeking a Warehouse Officer responsible for planning and implementing warehouse processes, operations and technology. The officer is also responsible for developing plans to monitor storage utilisation levels, managing warehouse facilities, reviewing operational quality and efficiency of warehouse storage and layout plans.

Key responsibilities:

•Verifying, inspecting, and recording incoming deliveries against purchase orders (ensuring quality and quantity).
•Organise and store goods in designated areas to optimise space and ensure easy retrieval.
•Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies in the stock card record
•Maintain accurate inventory records using manual and computerized inventory systems.
•Monitor stock levels and flag reorder needs to relevant department heads.
•Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment in line with health and safety regulations.
•Prepare and dispatch goods according to approved requisitions, sales orders, or delivery schedules
•Ensure all stock movements are properly documented and authorized.
•Monitor stock levels and notify management of items requiring replenishment.
•Maintain proper storage conditions to protect inventory from damage, theft, or deterioration.
•Supervise loading and unloading activities where necessary
•Ensure warehouse equipment and tools are used safely and maintained in good working condition.
•Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly warehouse and inventory reports.
•Support annual stock-taking exercises and external audits.
•Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Qualification Required & Experience

• Educational qualification: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, engineering, business administration, or related field.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Minimum Relevant work experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional experience in a similar role or any warehouse-related role.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Skills & Competencies

• Attention to detail and accuracy in keeping records up to date.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and inventory/ERP systems
• Good numerical and analytical skills for stock reconciliation and reporting
• Physical stamina — ability to lift/move goods and stand for extended periods
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift certification is often required or preferred)
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Problem-solving ability, especially for stock discrepancies or logistics issues
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, especially during peak periods
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
