1. Job Description
The Group Business Development Lead will be responsible for driving sustainable growth, revenue diversification, and strategic expansion across the Group of Companies.
The role will identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and commercial ventures that enhance the Group’s market position and profitability.
2. Strategic Objective
To drive profitable growth, secure strategic partnerships, and position the Group as a leading provider of construction, engineering, and energy solutions in Ghana and across West Africa.
3. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development
- Develop and implement a Group-wide business development strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Identify emerging opportunities in construction, engineering, energy, infrastructure, procurement, logistics, and related sectors.
- Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop business cases for new products, services, and market expansion initiatives.
Revenue Growth & Client Acquisition
- Generate new business opportunities across all Group companies.
- Lead proposal development, tendering, and bid management processes.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients and projects.
- Negotiate and close strategic commercial agreements.
Partnership & Stakeholder Management
- Develop strategic alliances with government agencies, multinational corporations, NGOs, developers, EPC contractors, and investors.
- Represent the Group at industry conferences, business forums, and networking events.
- Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders to drive long-term business opportunities.
Tender & Contract Management
- Identify and evaluate high-value tenders and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to prepare winning bids.
- Ensure commercial proposals are competitive, profitable, and aligned with organizational capabilities.
Market Expansion
- Explore opportunities within Ghana and the West African sub-region.
- Assess new markets, industries, and investment opportunities.
- Lead market entry strategies for new business sectors.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Finance, HR, Procurement, and Project teams.
- Provide commercial insights to support executive decision-making.
- Mentor business development and sales personnel across the Group.

Financial
- Annual revenue growth of the Group.
- Value of new contracts secured.
- Profitability of new business ventures.
- Contribution of new business to total Group revenue.
Commercial
- Number of strategic partnerships established.
- Number of successful tenders won.
- Client acquisition and retention rates.
- Pipeline value of qualified opportunities.
Strategic
- Expansion into new markets and sectors.
- Growth in market share across business units.
- Brand visibility and corporate reputation enhancement.
5. High-Level Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Business Administration
- Marketing
- Engineering
- Economics
- Finance
- Or a related field.
- MBA or Master’s Degree in Business Strategy, Marketing, or Project Management is preferred.
- Minimum 8–12 years’ experience in Business Development, Commercial Management, Sales Leadership, or Strategic Growth roles.
- Proven track record of securing high-value contracts and strategic partnerships.
- Experience in construction, engineering, energy, infrastructure, or related industries.
- Experience leading multi-business or Group-wide commercial initiatives is an added advantage.
