A reputable Mining Support Services Company is seeking to recruit a highly competent, analytical, and detail-oriented Accountant to join its Finance Department. This opportunity is ideal for a finance professional with strong accounting expertise and hands-on experience using SAP ERP systems, who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced corporate environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the company’s financial operations, maintaining accurate accounting records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing critical financial insights to support business decision-making.

Position Summary

The Accountant will play a key role in managing financial transactions, preparing reports, maintaining accounting records, and ensuring the integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical accounting skills, excellent analytical capabilities, and practical experience working with SAP accounting modules.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, journals, ledgers, and supporting documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

SAP ERP Financial Management

• Utilize SAP accounting modules to process financial transactions and generate financial reports.
• Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance within the SAP system.
• Monitor and troubleshoot accounting transactions within the ERP environment.
• Support process improvements and optimization of financial workflows using SAP.

Accounts Payable & Receivable Management

• Process supplier invoices, payments, and account reconciliations.
• Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and supporting documents.

Budgeting & Financial Analysis

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to support management decisions.
• Monitor expenditures and identify opportunities for cost optimization.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory regulations.
• Support internal and external audit activities.
• Maintain effective internal controls and financial procedures.
• Assist in tax preparation, statutory reporting, and regulatory filings.

General Finance Support

• Prepare financial schedules, reports, and other documentation as required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate should possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• An MBA in Accounting, or professional qualifications such as ICA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, will be a distinct advantage.
• Proven experience working as an Accountant in a corporate environment.
• Hands-on proficiency with SAP Accounting modules is mandatory.
• Experience within the mining, logistics, engineering, or related industries will be considered an advantage.
