Job Summary
The Assistant Transport Manager will support the Transport Manager in coordinating daily fleet operations, vehicle scheduling, logistics activities, and transportation administration. The successful candidate will help ensure the efficient and timely movement of goods while maintaining high standards of safety and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating vehicle scheduling and dispatch activities.
- Monitor vehicle movements and support route planning.
- Maintain transport records, logs, and fleet documentation.
- Assist in monitoring vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules.
- Support driver supervision and performance monitoring.
- Help track fuel usage and transportation expenses.
- Coordinate delivery schedules and logistics requirements.
- Ensure compliance with transport policies and safety standards.
- Prepare operational reports and transport-related documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in transportation, logistics, fleet operations, or related functions.
- Good organizational and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
