JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Logistics Manager to lead and oversee all logistics and distribution operations within our manufacturing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing the movement of finished goods to customers and distributors while ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
This role requires a strategic leader with strong operational expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record in logistics management within a fast-paced FMCG or manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Logistics & Distribution Management
- Oversee the outbound distribution of finished goods to distributors, retailers, and customers.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor transportation activities to ensure timely deliveries.
- Liaise with transport providers and negotiate favorable rates and service agreements.
- Ensure efficient route planning and vehicle utilization to optimize distribution costs.
- Monitor logistics performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Cost Management & Operational Efficiency
- Track logistics expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency and productivity.
- Analyze logistics performance data and recommend operational improvements.
- Prepare logistics budgets and monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
Compliance, Quality & Safety
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and industry requirements.
- Maintain adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Enforce environmental, health, and safety standards across all logistics operations.
- Ensure proper implementation and monitoring of site security protocols.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to logistics personnel.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate logistics staff, machine operators, technicians, and support teams.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with transporters, suppliers, and logistics partners.
- Collaborate with Production, Sales, Finance, and other departments to optimize operational performance.
- Resolve logistics-related issues promptly to ensure business continuity and customer satisfaction.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare logistics reports, dashboards, and key performance metrics.
- Monitor delivery performance, transportation costs, inventory movement, and service levels.
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior management.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Master’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience managing logistics operations within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in transportation management and distribution planning.
- Proven experience managing third-party transporters and logistics service providers.

- Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation, and supply chain management principles.
- Expertise in documentation, inventory control, and inland transportation coordination.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
REMUNERATION
Salary Package
- Net Monthly Salary: GHS 14,500 – GHS 20,000
- Competitive benefits package commensurate with qualifications and experience.
