Job Summary
Aquantuo is seeking an experienced, commercially driven, and execution-focused Head of Marketing to lead the company’s marketing strategy and operations across all countries, routes, services, and customer segments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving brand visibility, lead generation, customer engagement, retention, reactivation, and market positioning while ensuring all marketing initiatives contribute directly to business growth and revenue generation.
This role requires a strategic marketing leader with strong digital marketing expertise, campaign execution capabilities, and the ability to simplify complex logistics services into compelling customer-focused messaging.
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing Strategy & Business Growth
- Develop and implement Aquantuo’s overall marketing strategy across all operating markets
- Align marketing initiatives with revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and route expansion objectives
- Identify high-potential services, routes, and customer segments for targeted campaigns
- Ensure marketing activities directly support sales performance and organizational growth objectives
2. Brand Positioning & Corporate Visibility
- Strengthen Aquantuo’s brand positioning as a trusted and technology-driven logistics and commerce partner
- Ensure consistency in brand messaging, visual identity, tone, and communication across all markets and channels
- Protect and enhance the company’s reputation through proactive and accurate communication strategies
- Ensure the company’s brand promise, “Fast. Simple. Borderless.”, is consistently reflected across campaigns and customer interactions
3. Campaign Planning & Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee integrated marketing campaigns across services and operational routes
- Lead campaigns for:
- E-Commerce Solutions
- 3PL Fulfillment
- Intra-Africa Logistics
- Warehousing
- Shipping & Customs Services
- Last-Mile Delivery
- Value-Added Services
- Develop annual and monthly campaign calendars covering:
- Route promotions
- Seasonal campaigns
- Webinars
- Customer retention initiatives
- Reactivation campaigns
- Customer education programs
- Ensure campaigns are executed efficiently, on schedule, and measured against defined objectives
4. Digital Marketing & Communications
- Oversee all digital content across:
- Social media platforms
- Website
- Email campaigns
- WhatsApp communication
- Blogs
- Newsletters
- Webinars
- Ensure all communication is clear, customer-focused, commercially relevant, and aligned with brand standards
- Lead customer education initiatives around shipping processes, customs procedures, pricing, delivery timelines, and service offerings
- Manage communication relating to shipping schedules, route updates, service announcements, and operational changes
5. Lead Generation & Sales Support
- Collaborate closely with Sales Teams and Country Leads to generate qualified leads and improve conversion rates
- Develop marketing materials that clearly communicate Aquantuo’s services, competitive advantage, and route offerings
- Support campaigns targeting:
- SMEs
- Importers & Exporters
- Diaspora communities
- Merchants
- Corporate clients
- Key accounts
- Track marketing contributions to customer inquiries, sales leads, customer reactivation, and revenue growth
6. Customer Engagement, Retention & Reactivation
- Design and execute initiatives that improve customer engagement, retention, and loyalty
- Partner with internal teams to identify communication gaps and recurring customer concerns
- Support service recovery communication during operational disruptions or customer service issues
- Use customer insights and feedback to improve marketing effectiveness and customer experience
7. Market Research & Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor competitor pricing, campaigns, routes, service offerings, and positioning strategies
- Conduct competitor analysis and market testing exercises
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities within logistics, e-commerce, trade, and African consumer markets
- Use market intelligence to improve marketing campaigns and strategic positioning
8. Reporting & Performance Analytics
- Define and monitor key marketing performance indicators (KPIs) across all markets
- Analyze campaign performance, engagement, lead generation, conversions, retention, and route-level impact
- Prepare management reports with actionable insights and strategic recommendations
- Use performance data to optimize campaigns and improve marketing ROI
9. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing team
- Set performance expectations, priorities, deadlines, and accountability measures
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and execution excellence
- Support the professional growth and development of team members
10. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Sales, Customer Experience, Finance, and Leadership Teams
- Ensure marketing activities align with operational realities, service timelines, pricing structures, and customer experience goals
- Ensure strong coordination between marketing campaigns and sales execution efforts
11. Marketing Operations & Documentation
- Maintain marketing calendars, campaign trackers, brand assets, templates, and reporting systems
- Document campaign workflows, approval processes, procedures, and reporting structures
- Ensure proper organization and management of marketing tools, systems, and digital assets
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in Marketing, Brand Management, Business Growth, or Communications
- Proven experience leading marketing strategy and campaign execution across multiple markets or regions
- Strong background in digital marketing, content strategy, customer engagement, and brand management
- Experience within logistics, e-commerce, shipping, technology, or related industries will be an advantage
