Electrofax Engineering Services (GH) Limited is seeking to recruit HSE Officer.
Position Title: Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer – Transmission Line & Substation Relocation Project
Job Purpose
To ensure the safe execution of all project activities while maintaining compliance with health, safety, environmental, and mining regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement the Project HSE Management Plan.
• Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Monitor compliance with permit-to-work systems and safe work procedures.
• Conduct site safety inspections and audits.
• Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and awareness campaigns.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Develop corrective and preventive action plans.
• Monitor contractor HSE performance and compliance.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities.
• Monitor environmental management measures and reporting.
• Maintain HSE statistics and performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations, environmental permits, and client requirements.
Qualification Requirements
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (mandatory).
• MINCOM certification (mandatory).
• Minimum of 5–10 years experience in occupational health, safety, and environmental management.
• Experience in high-voltage electrical construction projects, mining, or heavy industrial environments.
• Knowledge of local occupational health and safety regulations and international best practices.
General Requirements
• Experience working on high-voltage transmission and substation projects (161kV or above preferred).
• Strong knowledge of utility standards, engineering codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and remote project locations.
• Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering/project management software.
• Commitment to quality, safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical conduct.
• Ability to work under demanding schedules while maintaining high professional standards.
