SafeCrop works directly with cocoa farming communities to strengthen cooperatives, support sustainable agricultural practices, and improve farmer livelihoods. We believe agriculture can be a powerful driver of community prosperity and resilience.
We are looking for motivated and community-oriented Project Officers to support field activities and work closely with cocoa farmers and cooperatives across our operational communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of agricultural and community development activities within assigned communities.
- Build strong working relationships with farmers, cooperatives, and local stakeholders.
- Conduct field visits and assist with farmer training, monitoring, and data collection activities.
- Support cooperative strengthening initiatives and sustainable farming programs.
- Assist in organizing community meetings, workshops, and sensitization programs.
- Prepare field reports and maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Monitor farmer participation and provide feedback to the Project Lead.
- Identify field challenges and communicate recommendations for improvement.
- Promote SafeCrop’s values of partnership, collaboration, and community engagement.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in agriculture, NGO, or community-based projects is an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage respectfully with farming communities.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Ability to ride a motorbike and possession of a valid rider’s license is an advantage.
- Willingness to work in rural communities within Assin Fosu or Tepa.
