About Tamale Development Trust (TDT)
Tamale Development Trust (TDT) is a women-led community foundation based in Tamale, Ghana. The organization serves the Tamale Metropolitan Area and Sagnarigu Municipality, with a combined population of over 716,000 residents.
TDT is a nonprofit organization registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Ghana Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and licensed by the Nonprofit Organizations Secretariat of the Department of Social Welfare under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
Founded in November 2022 and operational since July 2023, TDT focuses on promoting local philanthropy by mobilizing community resources and leveraging donor grants to improve livelihoods and strengthen community development in Tamale.
As a start-up nonprofit organization currently managed by its founding donor Board Members, TDT is seeking committed individuals to support the organization’s operations and community engagement initiatives.
Position Overview
Tamale Development Trust is seeking a passionate and community-driven Programs & Community Engagement Officer (Volunteer) to join its Management Team.
This role will support the design, coordination, and implementation of community-based programmes while strengthening engagement with stakeholders and beneficiaries. The position is currently voluntary, pending the organization’s financial capacity to offer salaried roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, coordinate, and implement community development programmes and initiatives.
- Engage community stakeholders, partners, and programme beneficiaries.
- Conduct community outreach activities and participatory needs assessments.
- Facilitate collaboration with local leaders, organizations, and volunteers.
- Document programme activities, progress, and outcomes.
- Prepare programme reports and contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working with communities, NGOs, or development programmes.
- Strong coordination, facilitation, and programme reporting skills.
