About Tamale Development Trust (TDT)

Tamale Development Trust (TDT) is a women-led community foundation based in Tamale, Ghana, serving the Tamale Metropolitan Area and Sagnarigu Municipality (combined population ~716,455).

TDT is a nonprofit organization registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Ghana Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and licensed by the Nonprofit Organizations Secretariat of the Department of Social Welfare, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

Since incorporation in November 2022 and operational launch in July 2023, TDT has focused on promoting local philanthropy by mobilizing local resources and leveraging donated grants to enhance the well-being and development of Tamale.

As a start-up nonprofit, the organization is seeking committed individuals to join its Management Team on a volunteer basis, supporting day-to-day operations until the Trust can offer salaried positions.

Position Overview

The Fundraising & Donor Relations Officer (Volunteer) will support TDT’s resource mobilization and donor engagement efforts, helping to secure funding, build sustainable relationships with donors, and strengthen the financial sustainability of the Trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of fundraising strategies.
  • Identify funding opportunities, partnerships, and potential donors, and actively pursue such opportunities.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual and institutional donors to enhance retention and stewardship.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and manage stewardship activities.
  • Collaborate with the management team to contribute to fundraising campaigns, proposals, and reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience in fundraising, donor relations, or proposal writing is an advantage.
  • Strong writing, communication, and networking skills.
