Job Summary
The Vessel Refit Project Manager will oversee the refurbishment and modernization of a 200-room accommodation vessel at Tema Shipyard. The successful candidate will manage all phases of the project from mobilization to final delivery while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and marine engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the complete refurbishment project lifecycle
- Manage planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of vessel refit operations
- Oversee accommodation refurbishment activities including cabins, sanitary systems, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, flooring, ceilings, and outfitting works
- Coordinate multidisciplinary contractors, subcontractors, and shipyard teams
- Ensure compliance with marine industry standards, HSE regulations, and quality procedures
- Manage procurement, inventory, and quality control of supplied equipment and materials
- Conduct project progress reviews, inspections, and stakeholder reporting
- Ensure successful testing, commissioning, documentation, and final project handover
Requirements & Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in vessel refit, ship repair, offshore, or marine accommodation refurbishment projects
- Proven experience managing large-scale marine refurbishment projects
- Strong project planning, coordination, and execution skills
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and interior marine systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and marine specifications
- Strong procurement and materials management knowledge
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced operational environments
- Professional proficiency in English is required
