Job Description

Rocksure International Limited is seeking a highly competent, experienced and results-oriented professional to join our team as an Equipment Training Officer.
*NB: For Ghanaian nationals only*.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering competency-based training programmes for heavy mining equipment operators. The role involves classroom instruction, field coaching, practical assessments, and continuous performance monitoring to ensure that operators meet the Company’s safety, productivity, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
 Plan, develop, and deliver theoretical and practical training programmes for various mining equipment, including haul trucks, excavators, dozers, and wheel loaders.
 Conduct practical and theoretical training sessions for new and existing employees and subcontractors.
 Assess training needs and skill gaps of operators using various performance evaluation methods.
 Coach operators to operate safe, efficient, and productive equipment in accordance with Company standards and OEM recommendations.
 Monitor operator performance.
 Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring strict compliance with mining regulations, Company procedures and client requirements.
 Develop and maintain training manuals, assessment tools, competency records and training matrices.
 Recommend operator certification, refresher training or remedial coaching based on assessment outcomes.
 Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing incidents, equipment damage and operational costs.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess:
 A Bachelor’s Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND) or Diploma in Mining
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Education or a related discipline.
 Equipment Trainer Certificate of Competency from the Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission
 A minimum of eight (8) years’ experience operating multiple heavy mining equipment in an open-pit mining environment.
 At least three (3) years’ experience as an Equipment Training Officer.
 Demonstrable experience in competency-based training and operator assessments.
 Sound knowledge of surface mining operations, mine safety standards and adult learning principles.
 Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching and report writing skills.
 Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing operational needs.
