Job Description
To operate and maintain farm tractors and implement equipment for land preparation, planting, spraying, and harvesting activities. The role ensures efficient use of machines in accordance with safety and operational standards to support overall farm productivity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate tractors and various attachments (ploughs, harrows, planters, trailers, sprayers, etc.) during all stages of crop production.
- Perform pre-operational checks on tractors and implements before each use to ensure mechanical readiness.
- Carry out daily routine maintenance tasks such as checking oil, fuel, water levels, tire pressure, and cleanliness.
- Report mechanical faults or unusual noises to the Farm Mechanic or Supervisor immediately.
- Maintain logs of machine hours, fuel usage, and field operations completed.
- Ensure proper calibration of implements such as planters and sprayers for accuracy.
- Operate machinery in accordance with safety guidelines to avoid damage to equipment, people, or crops.
- Assist with loading, off-loading, or transporting inputs and harvested crops using trailers.
- Comply with farm policies on safety, environmental sustainability, and equipment handling.
- Support other farm duties during off-peak seasons or when not operating machinery.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Farm Supervisor or Management.
