About the Role

The Site Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of construction activities on assigned project sites, ensuring that work is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within approved specifications, and to the required quality standards.

The successful candidate will serve as a key link between the project management team, contractors, subcontractors, artisans, suppliers, and other stakeholders, ensuring that site activities are properly coordinated and project objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on assigned project sites.
  • Ensure construction works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, work plans, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and monitor contractors, subcontractors, artisans, and site workers.
  • Monitor daily progress against project schedules and report delays or potential bottlenecks promptly.
  • Interpret and work with architectural, structural, engineering, and other technical drawings.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, materials, and construction progress.
  • Ensure that materials, equipment, and resources are available when required to prevent delays.
  • Identify construction issues, defects, risks, and deviations and escalate them to the appropriate project manager or technical lead.
  • Ensure proper use, storage, and handling of construction materials and equipment.
  • Monitor the quality of workmanship and ensure corrective actions are implemented where necessary.
  • Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental requirements on site.
  • Ensure workers and contractors comply with approved site procedures and safety standards.
  • Coordinate site meetings and toolbox meetings where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, labour, materials, equipment, progress, and challenges.
  • Prepare regular site progress reports for management.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, architects, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve site-related matters.
  • Assist with measurement, verification, and documentation of completed works.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure agreed deliverables are achieved.
  • Support project handover, snagging, rectification, and close-out activities.
  • Ensure the site remains organized, secure, and professionally managed.
  • Perform other site-related duties assigned by management.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A HND, Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or relevant qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Three (3) years proven experience in site supervision within the construction, property development, or civil works sector.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, methods, and site operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
  • Good understanding of construction quality control and site safety requirements.
  • Strong ability to coordinate contractors, artisans, and other site personnel.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify problems and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, will be an advantage.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.
