Job Description

We are seeking a competent, experienced, and results-driven Site Engineer to oversee the technical supervision and coordination of construction activities on-site. The successful candidate will ensure that construction works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, engineering specifications, project schedules, quality requirements, and applicable health and safety standards.

The Site Engineer will work closely with project managers, contractors, consultants, architects, quantity surveyors, foremen, and other site personnel to ensure that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day construction activities on-site to ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Interpret and implement engineering designs, technical drawings, construction details, and project specifications.
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure activities are completed according to the approved project programme and schedule.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify the quality and accuracy of construction works.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, architects, engineers, foremen, and other project stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and construction challenges that arise during project execution.
  • Ensure that materials, workmanship, and construction methods comply with approved specifications and quality standards.
  • Review construction drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and other technical documents where required.
  • Take measurements and provide technical information necessary for monitoring project progress and quantities.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, construction progress, materials used, manpower, equipment, and site issues.
  • Prepare site reports, progress reports, inspection reports, and other technical documentation as required.
  • Monitor the use of construction materials and equipment to minimize waste and ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Coordinate testing and inspection of construction materials and completed works where necessary.
  • Liaise with the project team to ensure that any design changes, variations, or technical instructions are properly communicated and implemented.
  • Monitor contractors’ compliance with approved construction methodologies and project standards.
  • Ensure that all construction activities comply with applicable building regulations, engineering standards, and project requirements.
  • Support the Project Manager or senior engineering team in planning, coordinating, and monitoring project activities.
  • Ensure strict adherence to site health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Identify potential risks, hazards, delays, and quality issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical updates on construction progress and challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Relevant experience in construction site supervision and project execution.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from technical and engineering drawings.
  • Good understanding of construction methods, materials, engineering principles, and site operations.
  • Strong technical, leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to monitor multiple construction activities and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and professional standards.
