Job Description
We are seeking a responsible, proactive, and safety-conscious Safety Officer to support our operations in maintaining a safe and compliant working environment across our projects and worksites.
Role Highlights
- Monitor and enforce health and safety policies and procedures across worksites.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox meetings
- Identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive measures
- Investigate and report workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses
- Ensure employees and contractors comply with required safety standards and procedures
- Promote safety awareness and good housekeeping practices among staff
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training, and other HSE activities
- Assist with safety training, emergency preparedness, and implementation of HSE initiatives
Key Requirements
- Degree/HND in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Management, or a related field
- 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction or engineering industry
- Good knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, regulations, and best practices
- Relevant professional safety certification will be an added advantage
- Strong observation, communication, and incident-reporting skills
