Job Description

1. Job Purpose

To provide strategic leadership and oversight for the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of projects across the Group of Companies, ensuring the effective implementation of construction, logistics, and energy initiatives in alignment with the Group’s strategic objectives.

The Project Lead will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality, regulatory, and operational standards while supporting business growth and profitability.

2. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Project Management

  • Lead project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Develop project charters, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Ensure alignment of projects with the Group’s strategic objectives.
  • Drive project governance and reporting frameworks.

Construction Projects

  • Oversee housing estate developments, roads, drainage systems, and civil engineering projects.
  • Coordinate contractors, consultants, architects, engineers, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations and engineering standards.
  • Monitor construction quality, timelines, and budget performance.

Energy Projects

  • Manage fuel infrastructure, engineering, maintenance, and energy-related projects.
  • Coordinate project execution in line with industry regulations and safety requirements.
  • Ensure operational readiness and business continuity.
  • Support expansion and growth initiatives within the energy sector.

Logistics & Freight Projects

  • Lead logistics improvement projects and supply chain optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinate customs clearance, transportation, warehousing, and freight operations.
  • Improve turnaround times and operational efficiency.
  • Drive digitalization and process automation initiatives.

Budget & Cost Management

  • Prepare project budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage procurement and contractor costs.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and performance reviews.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Reduce project defects and rework.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)

  • Promote a strong culture of safety across all operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Ghanaian regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Provide regular project status updates to management and the Board.
  • Facilitate project meetings and reviews.
  • Resolve stakeholder concerns promptly.

Team Leadership

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across the Group.
  • Set project performance targets.
  • Coach and mentor project teams.
  • Foster collaboration and accountability.

Risk Management

  • Identify project risks and mitigation measures.
  • Maintain project risk registers.
  • Escalate critical issues to management.
  • Develop contingency plans.

  • Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR).

  • Stakeholder satisfaction score.

Operational

  • Project delivery timelines.
  • Operational uptime.
  • Safety compliance.
  • Cost management performance.
  • Regulatory compliance rate.

Logistics

  • Freight turnaround time.
  • Customs clearance efficiency.
  • Delivery accuracy.
  • Logistics cost savings.
  • Customer satisfaction.

4. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Civil Engineering
    • Project Management
    • Construction Management
    • Logistics
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Energy Management
    • Or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree or MBA is an advantage.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-SP, Agile Project Management, or equivalent professional certification preferred.

5. Experience

  • Minimum of 8–12 years of project management experience.
  • At least 5 years in a senior project leadership role.
  • Experience in construction, logistics, infrastructure, energy, or industrial operations.
  • Demonstrated success delivering multi-million Ghana Cedi projects.
