Job Description
Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment and machinery used in agricultural processing or farm production. Ensure efficient production flow, adherence to safety and quality standards, and timely execution of tasks to support farm output goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate assigned production equipment or machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Set up, calibrate, and monitor machines for tasks such as sorting, grading, packing, irrigation systems, or mechanized fieldwork.
- Carry out routine pre-operation checks to ensure machines are functioning properly before use.
- Monitor equipment performance during operations and promptly report malfunctions or irregularities to the supervisor or maintenance team.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and ensure the production area is free from safety hazards.
- Follow quality control protocols to ensure that outputs (e.g., harvested produce, packaged goods) meet set quality standards.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting of machinery.
- Accurately record daily production data including machine output, downtimes, defects, and raw material usage.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets.
- Load and unload materials or farm produce as required, ensuring careful handling to minimize damage or wastage.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of chemicals or mechanical tools.
- Support other farm or production-related activities as assigned, including manual work when necessary.
- Participate in on-the-job training, workshops, or team briefings as directed by supervisors or management.
- Provide feedback on machine performance or process improvements for enhanced efficiency.
