Apex Shipping & Commercial Ltd (ASCO) is a Ghanaian-owned logistics company with 28 years of operational
excellence. Having transitioned from freight forwarding into a logistics support services provider, our core focus
is to provide reliable haulage services and the development of Green solutions across the Supply Chain value
chain. While we maintain our customs license, clearance services will be offered only for specialized project
cargo.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a results-oriented Operations Manager to lead and optimize our service delivery across core
logistics functions. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing both the transport and customs
clearance teams (for special projects), ensuring operational efficiency, cost control, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate daily haulage operations to ensure safe and timely delivery of cargo.
  • Manage the Transport Team and provide oversight to the Customs Clearance Team for special projects.
  • Ensure all operational activities meet client requirements with a “no excuses” delivery mindset.
  • Collaborate with the Accountant to monitor and manage operational costs.
  • Proactively identify areas of improvement and implement strategic changes.
  • Support business development with commercially sound decisions and opportunity evaluations.
  • Uphold health, safety, and quality standards across the logistics chain.
    Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, transport, or supply chain operations.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and deliver results under pressure.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to assess logistics opportunities.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and able to lead from the front.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience in cost control and operations budgeting is a strong advantage.
