Job Purpose
The Mining Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day mine shift activities to ensure safe,
efficient, and cost-effective production. This role provides leadership to frontline Leading
Hands and mining crews.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily mining activities including loading, hauling, and ore/waste
management. - Ensure all mining equipment are operated in a safe, productive and cost-efficient
manner. - Monitor equipment utilization and operational efficiency.
- Ensure production targets are met in line with mine plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate shift reports and operational records.
- Organise Pre-Shift Information meetings for the production crew.
- Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement across crews.
- Work closely with mine planning and engineering teams to align daily operations with
short- and long-term plans. - Monitor and report on production metrics, equipment performance, and workforce
productivity. - Lead, coach, and develop team members to enhance performance
- Ensures the enforcement of SOPs, mining regulations within the shift.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned by senior leadership.
Required Qualification & Experience
● Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in mining or related field with at least three (3) years of
experience in the same or similar role.
● Minimum of Mine Foreman Certification from Mincom.
● Valid Ghanaian Driver’s license.
Technical Competencies - Thorough understanding of the entire mining process.
- Thorough understanding of L.I 2182 (Health, Safety and Technical) and environmental
regulations. - Strong knowledge of open-pit mining methods, equipment, and processes.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in managing large teams in a mining environment.

- Proven track record of promoting workplace safety and environmental responsibility.
- Strong knowledge in mine planning software and fleet management systems would be
an advantage but not essential. - Good knowledge of MS Office Suite.
