Purpose of the Role
To perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on
packaging plant and equipment to ensure maximum reliability, efficiency, and availability of production
assets. The role is responsible for maintaining safe operations, minimizing downtime, optimizing
equipment performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the packaging hall.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure strict compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, Engineering, and Statutory standards
    to support a zero Lost Time Accident (LTA) culture.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of site overhauls, ensuring all activities are completed
    safely, on time, within specification, and within budget.
  • Manage maintenance materials, components, and spare parts required for assigned equipment,
    ensuring proper stock accountability and utilization.
  • Supervise maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on packaging lines, ensuring a
    right-first-time approach through effective testing and handover processes.
  • Monitor, optimize, and maintain the reliability of drives and mechanical systems during routine
    operations, shutdowns, and major overhauls.
  • Lead, coach, and develop technicians while promoting safe work practices and high-performance
    standards.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability
    and uptime.
  • Support automation projects, equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installations to
    improve operational efficiency.
  • Drive compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and accurate technical reporting to
    enhance asset performance and resource utilization.
  • Promote engineering best practices to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and overall
    packaging line performance.
  • Utilize CMMS tools, preferably SAP, to effectively manage maintenance activities, work orders,
    and reporting.

Key Requirements – Qualifications, Experience, Skills etc.

  • Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in maintenance engineering within a food, beverage, or
    FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Membership of a recognized professional engineering body (e.g., GhIE or equivalent) is an
    advantage.
  • Proven first-line leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS/SAP maintenance systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Strong planning, resource management, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing
    environment.
