•Driving sales growth and market share within major retail chains by building strong customer relationships and executing strategic account plans; to ensure optimal product availability, visibility, and effective execution of promotions to maximize brand performance in modern trade outlets. It also involves analyzing sales performance, managing trade investments, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver profitable and sustainable growth.
Job Details
The Key Accounts Manager shall be responsible for:
•Develop and implement strategic plans to grow sales and market share within modern trade accounts (supermarkets, hypermarkets, and retail chains) and key accounts i.e. Hotels, Petro Forecourts, Institutions
•Manage and strengthen relationships with key account trade customers to ensure long-term business partnerships.
•Negotiate trading terms, pricing, promotions, and shelf space agreements in line with company objectives.
•Ensure optimal product availability, visibility, and merchandising standards across all assigned accounts.
•Drive execution of promotional activities, in-store activations, and new product launches within modern trade outlets.
•Monitor sales performance against targets and develop corrective action plans where necessary.
•Analyze customer sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
•Collaborate with the Marketing team to align trade promotions with brand strategies and campaigns.
•Work closely with the Supply Chain and Distribution teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and minimize stock-outs.
•Prepare regular sales forecasts and demand plans for key accounts.
•Track and manage trade investments, discounts, and promotional budgets to ensure profitability.
•Conduct regular business reviews with key customers to evaluate performance and agree on growth plans.
•Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, company policies, and trade standards.
•Identify and onboard new modern trade opportunities to expand the company’s retail footprint.
•Prepare and present periodic reports on account performance, market insights, and strategic recommendations to management.
Qualification:
•A degree in Business Administration or Social Sciences
•MBA Marketing or CIM a plus
•3 – 5 years relevant senior management experience in Sales and Marketing
•Minimum 2 years’ experience in FMCG operations
•Computer literacy in Excel, Word, Power Point and any other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software, preferably SAP.
