Introduction:
Our client is a leading international manufacturer specializing in plant-based oils and specialty fats. With over 150 years of heritage and a strong global footprint, the company develops high-value, sustainable ingredient solutions for the food, bakery, chocolate & confectionery, and personal care industries.
To strengthen the regional People function, our client is recruiting a Regional HR Manager West Africa to lead and shape the HR agenda across four countries.
Position:
The Regional HR Manager West Africa is responsible for leading the Human Resources function across approximately 320 employees in the region.
Reporting to the HR Director, Global Functions, with a dotted reporting line to the Head of West Africa, this role defines and implements the regional people strategy in alignment with global frameworks and regional business priorities.
The role combines strategic leadership with operational execution and plays a key role in shaping organizational structure, talent capability, and leadership effectiveness across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and support a regional HR team of four HR Business Partners across West Africa.
- Define and execute the regional HR strategy in alignment with group frameworks and business objectives.
- Partner with the Head of West Africa and the regional leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning, and capability development.
- Oversee core HR processes including:
– Recruitment & workforce planning
– Talent management & succession planning
– Learning & development
– Performance management
- Drive compensation & benefits processes, ensuring fairness, competitiveness, and compliance.
- Lead employee relations and ensure compliance with local labour legislation across all countries.
- Act as change leader for transformation initiatives related to culture, leadership, and organizational development.
- Ensure accurate HR reporting, analytics, and workforce data to support business decision-making.
- Serve as a key member of the West Africa Leadership Team.
Profile:
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of HR management experience, including regional or multi-country responsibility.
- Strong experience in organizational development, talent management, and leadership capability building.
- Solid understanding of West African labour markets and employment legislation.
- Proven ability to lead and develop dispersed HR teams.
- Experience in a matrixed, international organization preferred.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills with a structured, hands-on approach.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at senior leadership level.
- Fluent in English and French (written and spoken).
- Regular regional travel (25–30%)
